SACRAMENTO, CA - California's unemployed know all too well that 2011 has not been the best year to find a good paying job. But there are still some decent jobs out there for the taking.
Fortune Magazine put together a list of the 10 hottest careers/industries heading in to 2012:
- Information Technology -- A new survey shows that about 65% of hiring managers said they hope to add tech staff in teh first half of 2012. Software developers earn an average of more than $94,000 per year.
- Healthcare -- According to the survey, there is a higher demand because of the aging U.S. population. Registered nurses make an average of more than $64,000 per year.
- Healthcare Management and Support -- A solid option for those who don't have the training or experience to work with patients.
- Engineering -- Forbes listed a new poll that shows 88% of employers are having difficulty finding engineers. Average pay is more than $77,000.
- Industrial Sector -- The U.S. manufacturing industry needs to replace retring workers. That includes electricians, carpenters, and welders. Forbes points out that as more companies go global, there will also be a greater need for people working in logistics, supply-chain management, and plant management.
