WILTON, CA - When a report came into News10 about a dead horse that had been hit by a car in Wilton, California, it seemed to be another in an increasingly large number of animal abandonment cases.
But when News10 producer Duffy Kelly arrived at the scene, she discovered the horse was not dead, but badly injured and in shock. Following requests for authorities on hand to contact a vet, Kelly took matters into her own hands.
What followed was an ongoing story of compassion, perseverance, and an outpouring of support from people gripped by the story.
But the story of this horse, now affectionately named Lucky Pal, is far from over.
