WOODLAND, CA - The Yolo County District Attorney's Office has concluded one part of its investigation into the police pepper-spray of Occupy UC Davis protestors last November and determined no charges will be filed against 10 arrested for alleged failure to disperse.
First videos posted of the Nov. 18 incident went viral, as they showed a campus police officer spraying demonstrators who appeared to be peacefully blocking a walkway on the UC Davis campus. A later video to surface showed police warned the protestors that force would be used if they did not move.
The incident triggered UC Davis and University of California investigations as well as a petition drive calling for the resignation of UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi. UC Davis Police Chief Annette Spicuzza and the two officers involved in the pepper-spraying were placed on administrative leave.
The D.A.'s office said the investigation into the police handling of the incident was still ongoing.
