SACRAMENTO, CA - Searchers from the Klaas Kids Foundation and Bay Area Missing are in Sacramento for a new weekend push to find 19-year-old missing UC Davis student Linnea Lomax.

"The biggest portion of what we're doing is going out along the river,"sweeping through those areas, just trying once and for all to eliminate the possibility of her being there," said Brad Dennis of the Klaas Kids Foundation.

Lomax has been missing since leaving a medical office on Howe Avenue June 26.  Her family says she suffered a breakdown after her college exams and they were worried that she is not taking her medication.

"We're also going out and canvassing the area with flyers," said Dennis, "to see if we can get any new leads or tips."

The weekend search got underway Friday with some teams actively searching and others scouting locations for more thorough searching Saturday and Sunday when the number of volunteers was expected to be bigger.

For Blake McKinney of El Dorado Hills, it was the first time either he or his wife has been involved in such an effort.

"I've never done anything like this before," McKinney said. "But I've got a little girl and I know that if she went missing I would hope that as many people as could be involved would come pitch in."

There is a $10,000 reward for information leading to Lomax's safe return.
