A's continue July winning ways, top Orioles

BALTIMORE, MD - Yoenis Cespedes hit a two-run home run and drove in three as the Oakland Athletics took a 6-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Chris Carter also belted a two-run homer while Jemile Weeks went 3-for-5 with two runs scored for the Athletics, who improved to 18-3 in July. Bartolo Colon (7-8) gave up seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings.

Nick Markakis' homer in the ninth was the only run for the Orioles, who have dropped two straight and five of six. Tommy Hunter (4-6) was touched for five runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings to drop his second straight start.
