SACRAMENTO, CA - Police investigate two Saturday night shootings that occurred 7 minutes apart and were nearly a mile from each other in North Sacramento.
Officer Michele Gigante said the two shootings maybe connected.
Around 11:19 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Lauderdale Court to find three men with gunshot wounds. Police said the victims and other people were standing outside of a home when 8 to 10 Asian male suspects walked up and started an argument with the group.
The victims said the suspects pulled out guns and shot at the group, injuring three men. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
Police released a description of three suspect vehicles in the shooting: a silver Mitsubishi Galant, an older Toyota Camry and a dark color 4-door sedan.
About 7 minutes later, police received a call for a drive-by shooting near Grand Avenue and Altos Avenue. An 18-year-old victim was walking when a white Honda drove up with Asian males inside, shot the victim and then drove off.
The man went to a friend's house and called police. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Gigante did not say why police believe the two shootings may be connected, but are investigating the possibility.
