SACRAMENTO - Highway 99 in Sacramento was closed in both directions Wednesday morning after a water main broke at 2:25 a.m., flooding the freeway.
The water main broke at 12th Avenue and Franklin Blvd., causing water to flow onto Highway 99.
Southbound traffic was being diverted at 12th Ave. while northbound traffic was being diverted at Fruitridge Rd.
The northbound direction of Highway 99 was reopened around 6:37 a.m. and the southbound side opened around 8:10 a.m.
