49ers wide reciver and kick returner Kyle Williams hangs his head after falling in overtime to the New York Giants 20-17 in Sunday's NFC championship game.
SAN FRANCISCO - Any of the many 49er fans who sent kick returner Kyle Williams death threats or harassing, degrading tweets after his fumble in Sunday's NFC championship, should take note of the maturity and class shown by a seven-year-old boy.
Following the heart-breaking loss, little Owen Shure, like many 49er fans, could not contain his disappointment. But, while many fans took to social media to bash Williams for his error, Shure simply broke down and cried.
According to a Huffington Post article, Shure's father reasoned with his distraught son, ""If you feel this way, how sad do you think Kyle Williams is?"
This is where Shure displayed the reasoning and empathy that many individuals three and four times his age did not.
As the Huffington Post article explains, Shure asked his father, "Can I write him a letter to make him feel better?"
Not to suggest that most adults would or have to show the sincere emotional innocence of a child, but perhaps Shure's letter will give sports fans something to think about the next time they wish death or misery on a person for making a mistake in what is, with all due respect, just a game.

Dear Mr. Williams:
We just watched the Playoff game. I feel really bad for you but I wanted to tell you that you had a great season. you sould be very proud, so I wanted to say thank you.
