GREAT HANG UP: The period between Memorial Day and Labor Day is the most deadly time of year for teen drivers. That's what the American Automobile Association says a recent study of teen driving behavior revealed.

The study involved more than 50 teens observed driving on hidden cameras.  15 percent of the 7,000 video clips demonstrated teens distracted while driving on a phone or texting.

The study also showed girls were more likely to use gadgets and boys were more likely to turn around and look away from the road.

Experts say talking over and over about driving and monitoring teens can have a big impact when it comes to keeping them safe behind the wheel. As does modeling good behavior behind the wheel as an adult.

Take the pledge together to Hang Up and Drive.
